Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Disorders
TMJ disorders are pretty common and can affect the day to day life of someone immensely.
The jaw joint, TMJ, can be felt right infront of your ears when opening and closing your mouth. TMJ disorders are more common in women and can cause pain and limited movement of the lower jaw.

There are a wide array of causes for TMJ disorders and can include but are not limited to:
- Trauma to the face or head
- Grinding of teeth
- Missing teeth
- Arthritis
- Emotional or physical stress
Once diagnosed, a combination of methods including physiotherapy, an occlusal splint, Botox Injection, medication or even a modified diet and stress management may be used to treat and overcome the TMJ disorder.
